Who We Are

Foot in Mouth Designs began with a small idea snowballed into something much more.

In March of 2022, about 5 months after entering the custom keyboard hobby, PuNkShoO began experimenting with keyboard switch material and design combinations. After realizing that there was no marketed switch which combined the materials and feel that he fell in love with, the Cream Soda switch was born. With the help of the global vendors, content creators, and the general keyboard enthusiast community the release of the Cream Soda switch was a huge hit and thus began a legacy of awesome switch design leading to other amazing designs in the Root Beer Float, Melody, and Summertime switches.

Fast forward to 2023 where, after a time, relationships had been built with vendors, artists, manufacturers, content creators, and other makers. There began a shift in the custom keyboard atmosphere with affordable high quality releases and mass-produced offerings becoming readily available to the masses. However, smaller designer releases became increasingly more difficult to fund due to a shift in the general keyboard consumer mentality and mistrust in the group buy model. This left a need for established design workflow, rapid prototyping, marketing, and funding in order to get these more niche products into the hands of the community. As a result, the FiM idea was born.

What We Do

At Foot in Mouth Designs it is our goal to offer all these solutions for “idea people” in the keyboard space and beyond. By working with seasoned veterans we can take your product from an idea and make it a reality.

Making your idea real.

Through concept art and 3D modeling we can help you visualize your idea. Rapid prototyping via 3D printing allows us to turn that visual into a reality that can be held in the hand and fine tuned with quick turn around. We then use our established relationships with manufacturers both home and abroad to produce final prototypes and begin production. Through our experience we can even help put vendors for distribution, creators for marketing, and more.
