Weekly Update 10/19

I spoke with Gateron on Monday and the new Summertime stem molds are slated to arrive soon with production being scheduled for October 25th. It usually takes up to 3 weeks for switches to be produced but I have been advised that Summertime are a priority and should complete production much sooner. Your patience is very much appreciated while we make sure mass production QC meets the expectation. Additionally, please give your vendors time for logistics with regard to the completed production units once they are finished.

Beat Drops (Melody stems) bags are in production and should be completing and on their way to me within a week. I will have more news on the new site and availability of these soon.

The website is like 90% done. I am shooting for a launch sometime mid-November in time for the NA holidays and such. There will be some solid deals for those of you who choose to provide direct support and help me test the site. Note: I am not going to be a full-fledged vendor. The point of the site is to provide a hub for designs, offer design services, offer exclusive products, and allow folks to purchase limited stocks of my switches to help fund future projects without me having to create manual PayPal invoices.

The “top sekrit” Indulgence project is under way. Samples are being produced by Keygeek as we speak and I should have them shortly. Tbh, I have no idea what my intentions are with these yet. I am looking at something simple like a single region release and possible internal GB. Please bare with me while I play around with this side project before anyone gets to stoked about them. Discussion around the design can be found in project-discussion as these are not an official project as of yet. More of just a pet project at the moment. Updates as they come will be discussed there until something official is decided.

Lastly, Snow Drift quotes are out there from various manufacturers. BSUN is prepared to make them. However, I would personally like to keep them as a Gateron sister switch to Summertime. The translucent stem really sends the design home but the costs far outweigh the benefits. To put it in perspective, the singular mold would cost me more than I have made this year by a large margin. As such, the options at the moment are to produce Summertime with a POM or opaque Ink stem. The aesthetic comparison can be found in the snowdrift-switch Discord channel. I think its fine but we don’t work with “fine” here. I am open to altering the colorway slightly to something that might fit the bill a bit better. Alternatively, we can get something akin to the original design with BSUN but the feel, material blends, and molds will all produce a very different outcome than what we would expect from Gateron offerings and they would not be a true sister switch to Summertimes.
